Self-reliance, an introduction

Self-reliance

“the ability, commitment, and effort to provide the necessities of life for self and family”

Why be self-reliant:
-             - We can prepare for and avoid problems
-             - Have lower stress
-             - Independence feels good
-             - Be better able to care for others
Area’s to be self-reliant in:
-            - Education
-            - Health
-            - Employment
-            - Family home production and storage
-            - Family Finances
Change and uncertainty are a part of life. We can do many things of and for ourselves to help mitigate unexpected change in our life. In this series of blog posts I’ll share ways to be self-reliant in these areas. Maybe you’ve got self-reliance down pat, congratulations! Feel free to share comments and to pass this information on to those in your sphere of influence that could use some guidance in this area. Check back often to see what is new. Better yet follow me on twitter and get notices of when a new post has gone up.
Over the next week make note of areas of self-reliance you would like to improve.
